Suggest Treatment For Cyst In The Penile Glans In A Diabetic With Chronic Hydronephrosis

default
Posted on Mon, 1 Aug 2016
Question: Couple of days back, after masturbation, i noticed a small painless lump of skin on the side behind the glans. There was no irritation at all. However, after 2 days i happen to see this lump formed under the foreskin. I have been circumcised and never had this lump formed in the past. When i consulted a general physician, i was said that its a cyst and has to be removed by a surgery. The issue is that I'm diabetic and have chronic hydronephrosis. Need a suggestion if i need to have to go through this surgery to get the painless prominent lump removed or just ignore it.

Brief Answer:
You need to excise the Syct in Toto.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for your query ,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have developed Sebaceous Cyst over Penis

The penile skin is rich in sebaceous glands and hence prone to get more sebaceous cyst due to accumulation of sebum beneath the skin. Normally they fade away without treatment however they need to be treated if increase in size or get infected.

The photographs that you have uploaded shos acyst which need to get excised in Toto.

This is a simple surgery done under local anaesthesia as a out patient procedure and offers permanent cure .Consult qualified General Surgeon for evaluation anf get it excised .There is no harm in doing surgery if your diabetes is well controlled .

Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions , I shall be happy to help you .
Thanks and Regards.

Hello Dr. XXXXXXX

Thanks for the briefing out the details to me. How soon should i get this removed? I'm in a situation wherein i cant afford to take leave from work for next 10 days. Will this delay pose any issue/threat? Will intercourse/masturbation trigger the growth of the cyst to other areas or is it okay to involve in intercourse as it is painless? Not that i want to participate in intercourse with this kind of situation but wanted to know the outcome of doing do. Im trying my best to avoid erection as im afraid that the cyst may spread out. Thanks for your time.

Regards,

getting involved in sexual acts may cause rupture of the cyst and infection may get transmitted to your partner .

If at all you wish to have sex have a safe and protetced sex with condom .
