Suggest Treatment For Cyst On Inner Lip In An Elderly Person While On Zytee

Question: I have a very small cyst on my inner lip since ten days. I apply Zytee gel on it but it remains.

I am 68 years male

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain a small cyst on the inner aspect of the lip might be a Mucocele or a mucous cyst that can form due to rupture of the duct of minor salivary gland..
This lead to escape of saliva and accumulation in the soft tissues leading to formation of a small bump..
It is harmless and does not lead to anything serious..

As it gets ruptured and reformed, there is a possibility that there is recurring accumulation of mucous leading to recurring episodes of formation and rupture..

I would like to know a few more details so that I can give you a considerable diagnosis and advise you how to proceed for treatment..

1. Do you have pain in the lesion or it is painless?
2. Since how many days it is present?
3. Did it appear suddenly or grew slowly?
4. As you indicated that you have visited a doctor, what did the doctor say and what treatment he advised?
5. Is the lesion hard or soft?

It is not painful but my tongue is always there
It is about ten days now
It came slowly
The Doctor said nothing to worry . Too small to cut . Not infectious.
It is hard.

As it is not painful and hard it seems to be Mucocele only..
Nothing to worry as it is mostly self limiting and will resolve gradually on its own..
You can do concentrated salt water gargles daily..
In case if there is no pain also, you do not need to apply even Zytee gel..
