Suggest Treatment For Cyst On Right Vocal Chord While Treating GERD

Question: Prior to my questions a few things: I recently found out that i have a cyst on my right vocal chord. I also have GERD, which I am taking aciphex for. However, I've been experiencing burning in my throat (lower, like where my neck meets up with the rest of my body - shoulder/chest area).
I got sick over the weekend and have been coughing. I went to the doctor for that to get on antibiotics. But when I cough and phlegm or mucus comes up, it get this awful metallic/metal taste in my mouth. I'm worried I have a cut or lesion or something terrible. Have you ever heard of this happening and what is the cause typically? What should I do?

Brief Answer:
Cough
Detailed Answer:
Hello. I just read through your question.
I understand what you are feeling. Sometimes after bouts of coughing, we can actually cause an abrasion in the throat. This, together with your history of GERD and recent bacterial infection, can lead to the sensation you are feeling.
However, we can never know if this is the cause until it is visualized. Sometimes, the only way that can happen is with endoscopy, the insertion of a small camera in the throat, by an ENT.
In any case, a visit with a good ENT doctor is a good idea. I recommend consulting with your doctor and asking for a referral.

I was told by my doctor to monitor my temperature which was slightly elevated yesterday (99.2 or something)
I took my temperature twice tonight and it was at 96.6. Isn't that too low? Is that dangerous or am I okay?
