Suggest Treatment For Dark Patches On The Shaft Of The Penis And Scrotum
Question: In the last twelve months, I have noticed two dark patches on my shaft and scrotum. The patches are a little bigger than a pencil eraser, and much darker than the surrounding skin. They are not moles.
The texture of the patches is different from the rest of the skin - they are smooth and very very slightly raised. Also, the patches reflect light (so they are shiny if I move them back and forth), unlike the rest of the skin in that area.
What could this be? I have approached many doctors in my area, and could not find a solution.
Thank you.

Based on the description, these are likely to be warts. However, they need to be examined/visualized.

Hello again.
Thanks for uploading the images.
Based on these images, you have post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) which is a complication of inflammatory response due to damage to the skin.
Mometasone furoate topically should help. PIH can take up to 2 years to fade. You can expedite the process by using the mometasone. Its a prescription medication/steroid and you would have to consult a doctor before using it. The spots should be re evaluated at 4 weeks time to see if fading has occurred.
