Suggest Treatment For Delayed Puberty In A 16 Year Old Male

Question: Hello. My son is struggling with what he thinks is delayed puberty, and thinks he's got a hormonal disorder. He's horribly embarrassed because he's not developed like others his age, and wants to take hormones. He's 16 (will be 17 in October), is 5'10.5", and weighs 135. His voice is low, but he doesn't shave yet. He wants me to do something, take him to a doctor, but I'm afraid of messing with nature. Could you please advise? Thank you!

Taking hormone is not recommended

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to Healthcare-Magic
Greetings of the day

Some adolescent may have developmental delay in puberty. Taking hormone supplement is not recommended without thorough assessment by physician. It will definitely do more harm.
I would suggest you the following

1. Thorough evaluation by Pediatrician and Pediatric Surgeon . Thorough clinical examination and assessment of puberty

2. Assessment by Endocrinologist

Do get back to me if you need any further assistance will be glad to assist you

Take care
