Most likely its macular degeneration.
Detailed Answer:
I am sorry for his condition.
Have gone through reports most likely he is having macular degeneration.
In Macular degeneration the central part of retina termed as Macula is damaged
An early diagnosis will result in early treatment, so it may help to limit or at least slow the vision loss he is experiencing.
Medication that can be tried include-
Anti-VEGF medication-VEGF stands for vascular endothelial growth factor. It's one of the chemicals responsible for the growth of new blood vessels in the eye caused by wet AMD. Anti-VEGF medicines block this chemical, stopping it producing blood vessels and preventing MD getting worse.
Laser photocoagulation can also be used to treat some cases of wet AMD. This type of surgery is only suitable if the abnormal blood vessels aren't close to the fovea, as performing surgery close to this part of the eye can cause permanent vision loss.
For left eye as evident from reports has severe macular edema and degeneration, which can not be reverted hence prognosis(chances of saving vision) are very poor.
As per the reports of retinal examination i dont feel its reversible now. However a try on right eye to the above menioned therapy can be given.
For dementia opinion of neurologist should be taken.
Thanks!
