Question: I suffer from Depression that it overshadows to Adult ADHD.
Due to this I suffere greatly because of extreme fatigue, tiredness, lack of motivation.
The only Med that has helped me was Adderral.
I do not take Adderral any longer but I am kindly asking you to let me know what medication and antidepressants can give the same results as Adderral? The boost of energy was settled and comfortable and I would go Thru my days just fine.
PLEASE HELP ME BECAUSE I AM SUFFERING BADLY. I took prozac years ago and I did not like that sharp uncomfortable uneasy FAKE feeling of having energy.
Obviously I need an antidepressant that will help me with the depressive side effects of depression at the same time help me with the severe fatigue state of MIND AND BODY.
I am 55 healthy otherwise male.
I suffer from insomnia and I take 100mg of Serequel. I do not get straight 7 to 8 hours of sleep. I wake up few times during the nite which disturbs my sleeping pattern and ultimately effects my fatigue problem as well.
PLEASE HELP ME!

Brief Answer:
Wellbutrin could be a viable option

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXX,
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.

I read your query and understand your concerns.

First of all I do not think any medicine can act as ADD medication like adrenal and I think we need to stop searching for it. Having said this Bupropion (wellbutrin) is closest option in this regard. It is an antidepressant and quite useful in ADD as well as depression. The usual dose for most adults is 150 mg to 450 mg. Most of my patients respond well by 300 mg dose and it is possible that same will be applicable in your case.

Unfortunately it does not help with anxiety/sleep symptoms and you may need something else for sleep during initial two to four weeks. Since you are using seroquel I feel addition of wellbutriin is only step required at this stage. I also of the opinion that if modafinil 200 mg is not helping you there is no point in its continuation.

I hope this helps you.
If you have any further query, I would be glad to help you.
If not, you may close the discussion and if possible you may rate the answer for my future patients.

Brief Answer:
Zoloft and wellbytrin among antidepressants

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXX,
Thanks for reverting back to me.

I missed the medication tried part in the posted query and unfortunately that lead to confusion. Among the antidepressants there are only two medications which help us in increasing dopamine and they are zoloft and wellbutrin. Since they are already tried and of no use for you we need to find something similar but effective in a depression which is effective for extreme fatigue.

Clarifying the confusion the next line of best possible option for you could be Pristiq. In my own clinical practice I have observed few cases with excellent results and I think this should be tried. I must make it clear that Pristiq is no way similar to Adderal but there is no harm in trying a medication which worked well for lot of persons in similar conditions.

I hope this helps you.
Thanks and regards.
