Brief Answer:
still depression is there, need to change/add medicines

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX

Thanks for writing to us.

Prozac 20 mg is an SSRI and good drug for depression. Seroquel is an atypical antipsychotic and generally used in bipolar or resistant depression.

The restless leg might be caused by seroquel. Further poor appetite is one of the symptoms of depression. Likely possibility is that your depression has not improved yet. Hence in my view, your medicines should be changed. If I were your treating doctor , I would like to stop seroquesl and want to add Mirtazapine (Rameron) or Desvenlafaxine(prestique) as an antidepressant. They are SNRI and different mechanism of action than SSRI. I would also add for short duration clonazepam or etizolam in day time for restless leg, early relief as well as make you relax. Discuss about it with your treating doctor.

Let me know how your depression started, what were the symptoms and what are the symptoms right now? How much improvement have you noticed with prozac and seroquel? Is there any social, emotional, economical or relationship stress there?

Hope I have answered your query, I will be happy to help further.

Regards,
Dr.Chintan Solanki.

hello again dr I will take this info with me to my local dr
I think I had depression all my life and covered it up through alcohol it was a relationship I was in last year that this person who also has depression told me I had all the signs of depression, so I made an app and was put on I cant remember now, but in may this year I was splitting up with my relationship and I had a row with my father and I just fell into this awful place I lost interest in everything no energy lazy no sleep no rest and had thoughts of suicide it got so bad I went to hospital for help, from there I was put on my current medication which I have to say has helped me out of that horrible place I was in, I also had consultations with a community group that help people with depression I found them fantastic and they went through my whole life to where I am now and it was a healing in away, I have also had 2 sessions on DBT and will continue in the new year XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
You can be improved and stable with medications and psychotherapy

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX

Thanks for information. I read your problem thoroughly.

From history it seems you are in depression. Your doctor is right that medicines which has worked well before should be restarted again if recurrent episode of depression. However if prozac is there since more than four weeks and not sufficient improvement is there, other medicine should be added as I mentioned.

From your history it seems that you can also be helped with psychotherapy and counseling. So continue your session of DBT. Also continue visit of community group.

All the best and get well soon

Dr.Chintan Solanki.
