Suggest Treatment For Deviated Nasal Septum
Question: I am suffering from DNS, deviated nasal septum since many years because of which my nose blocks badly at night.
I was earlier advised by ENT surgeon to undergo operation but because of fear of nose drills plugging, I was avoiding this for last five years.
I used to take Flomist ( Cipla)steroid nasal spray as advised by my doctor. Nowadays These nasal sprays are not helpful and I have to take Otrivin/Nasavion drops to sleep comfortably at night.
Yesterday I went to my ENT surgeon, who gave me Veloz D, Alerfix Total and Awamy nasal spray. He clearly told me that now I must undergo operation to cut off DNS extra skin. Another ENT surgeon at XXXXXXX all the time talked of polyps in the nose and advised surgery 5 years back.
I need advise of a specialist ENT doctor on nose blockage. Is there any other way except operation? I am scared that if they plug my nose drills after operation, I will not be able to breath. I never breathed through my mouth.
I also have a problem of my nose and throat becoming very dry, particularly in night making my vocal box movement tight.

In my opinion , your are having DNS with rhino sinusitis .
If I were your teating doctor for this case, I would advice
avoid Otrivin/Nasavion drops long term use itself will cause nose block,
use steam vaporizer twice daily ,
Saline nasal spray thrice daily like solspre ,
use tab Romilast L 10 or Montek Lc at night ,
Use combination nasal spray like Nezalast or Duonase, 2 puff each nostril twice daily & use warm water gargle 20 mins after steroid spray .
You will get relief .
Investigation needed CT Scan PNS & diagnostic nasal endoscopy to know extend of disease & severity. If you have done these tests before then upload reports. Decision of operation if needed can be taken after this investigations.
After nose operation nasal pack are kept for 24 hours only under monitoring .

Thanks Doctor. Can you prescribe these tests so that I can get this done and upload reports. Also pl let me know how to again contact you as these tests shall take few days as I am on tour. I have bought Solspray and start using from tonight. Would you like me to stop Alerfix total and veloz d and take tablets/spray prescribed by you.

Diagnostic nasal endoscopy done by ENT specialist .
Use steam vaporizer twice daily you will get in surgical shop ,

Do you feel I need some antibiotic to clear my sinuses? If not, how some partially filled sinuses will get clear? CT scan does show some of the sinuses are filled?
