Suggest Treatment For Diarrhea After Rectum Removal

Question: Ever since having my rectum removed due to colon cancer resection 30 years ago, I've had a common problem with diarrhea, which I've controlled successfully with immodium. Due to an emotional challenge I've experienced lately, my doctor put me on 3 .5MG tablets of clonazepam and 2 300MG tablets of lithium carbonate daily. The diarrhea has gotten worse, and I can't seem to control it with immodium, even by increasing the frequency. Any suggestions?
