Brief Answer:
Guaifenesin unlikely to be the cause

Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome

I appreciate your concern

Guaifenesin can be a possible cause as a number of drugs can have diarrhea as its side effect though its quite unusual for Guaifenesin to precipitate a diarrheal illness. Most diarrhea cases are from self resolving causes. If you were my patient , I would not start rush to start antibiotics or anti diarrhea agents unless you have blood in stool, fever or features of dehydration. For mild to moderate diarrhea probiotics like gutcare or enflor or enterogermia can be used. They reform the normal gut flora and help in subsiding the diarrhea. Fiber supplements like psyllium or methylcellulose also helps control diarrhea. Boiled rice, toast, mashed boiled potato, bananas should be taken. Milk based products including cheese, curd should be avoided for the time being. If the loose stools or diarrhea persist despite these measures then it would be a good idea to consult a doctor and get stool tests and other relevant investigations done.

Wishing you best of health
