Suggest Treatment For Diarrhea And Dizzyness

Question: Hi. For the last 2 full days I have had diarrhea and felt dizzy. My sleep has been disputed with fevers and sweating, plus a regular need to go to the bathroom. My stool continues to be liquid. Today I have a tingling/pulsing sensation on the right side of my head in addition to the diarrhea and I feel like there is a slight time delay in my vision. What can this be?

I am Dr Aslam here to help you.

All your symptoms suggests severe dehydration following diarrhea. Sweating, dizziness, visual disturbance,tingling sensation etc all suggests very low blood pressure from dehydration. This is a medical emergency needing immediate correction of dehydration with intravenous fluids. As you are having fever, antibiotics also needed. Kindly reach the emergency room as soon as possible.

Meanwhile you drink as much fluids as possible. You can use WHO ORS, which is the best dehydration fluid..if it is not available, take salted rice water or mix sugar and salt in 3:1 proportion in water.Drink in small sips every 1-2 minutes to avoid nausea.
