Question: Hi, my husband is 31 years old and has experienced diarrhea 3-7 times a day every day. He feels fatigue he says. Also we recently had lab work done to have other tests done they said his liver enzymes were elivated quite a bit. Could you help me in any way what to start looking for that he could maybe be treated or tested for. I Google it and it says liver disease. . But I'm hoping there maybe other things causing his symptoms

Brief Answer:
Please provide the lab reports...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I am sorry for the situation your husband is in.

- You are saying that he is experiencing diarrhea 3-7 times a day every day. Can you please specify WHEN did the diarrhea started? (1 month? 1 weeks? a few days ago?)

- You are also saying that you ran blood reports, Can you please send them to me so I can analyze them further and assist you through the process?
Apart blood work, did he also run:
- abdominal ultrasound?
- culture of feces?

Having high liver enzymes is indicative for:
- liver inflammation: hepatitis? fatty liver?
- gallbladder inflammation/sludge/stones?

Feeling fatigue is due to loss of fluids and electrolytes due to persistent diarrhea. It is necessary to keep him hydrated through taking:
- lots of water and fluids
- OTC ORS
- take tasectan or pepto bismol to stop diarrhea

It is good that he is also taking probiotics as they will optimize intestinal flora.

You can encourage him to have more soups, yogurt, banana and prepare light dishes not to worsen his diarrhea.

At the end, if your husband is having diarrhea for more than 2 weeks, and his liver enzymes were high, you should contact with GI specialist as soon as possible for further evaluations and immediate treatment.

Wish fast recovery!
