Brief Answer:
Viral infections are associated with high temp

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthCareMagic. I have gone through the details provided by you. Your daughter is suffering from an infection. Such infections are generally viral in nature. Unless associated with bloody diarrhoea, you need not worry. Irrespective of the use of antibiotics, they usually resolve on their own in 3-7 days time. All you have to do is to keep the fever in control and maintain the salt and water balance of the body.

Continue giving her ORS as you are doing. It is the most important part of treatment. Give her sponging with water at room temperature. It will help in controlling the fever. Also give her paracetamol if required. May I know her current body weight so as to comment on the dose.

Viral fevers are generally associated with high rise of temperature. Take the measures and things will be fine. You need not worry but as I told you, the fever is likely to persist for a few days. Continue giving Zinc as it helps in controlling diarrhoea.

Hope that answers your query. Feel free to revert back in case of further queries if any.

Brief Answer:
Doses as per weight.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back. The dose of paracetamol (crocin syrup 120 mg/5ml) would be 7.5 ml/dose given at a minimum interval of 3-4 hours. Antibiotics are not needed for viral infections. If you have already started them I suggest you complete the course.

You can give Decolic syrup 5 ml as per requirement in order to relieve the abdominal colic that she is having.

Hope that helps. If you have been benefitted by my answer, please leave a 5 star rating and a positive review.
