Suggest Treatment For Diarrhea, Vomiting, Stomach Ache, Sore Throat, Headache And Neck Pain
Question: My 9 yr old (almost 10) daughter had the stomach bug exactly 2 weeks ago (diarrhea, vomit, headache, low grade fever). That passed and then last week she had a sore throat, headache, neck pain on right side of neck (can look down without pain but has pain when looks to right mostly on right side but some on base of left side) plus minor tummy ache, low grade fever (99). We saw a nurse practitioner who said her throat was really enlarged/swollen. She swabbed and cultured her for strep (it was negative). She said her lymph nodes were not swollen. She also noted that her neck pain was farther back than where drainage from ear would be. She mostly started feeling better and has had 4 days of healthiness until this morning. She woke up with stomachache, diarrhea and then vomited (clear liquid with spots of blood) twice today (she has eaten normal meals before this so the clear vomit was odd to me). If she gets up and moves around her stomach starts hurting but if she lays down and still she says it feels fine. She has had some sinus drainage as well which we suspect caused the sore throat but don't know. We are trying to decide if this is something we should get checked out today (Sunday) or just let it pass and see how she is tomorrow?

Brief Answer:
Wait and watch. Give ORS

Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
I have gone through your query and understand your concern. Most often such symptoms are due to certain viral infections. You can wait and watch but you need to give ORS (Oral rehydration solution) to replenish the lost water and salts.
