Suggest Treatment For Difficulty In Conceiving While Having Symptoms Of PCOS

Question: I am 30 year old married.Me and my husband have been trying for a baby since last 7 months but without success.In February we had visited a Dr who prescribed me tamoxifen tablets for 5 days ending on the 8th day of my period in February.He also told us the right day to try for conception through 3-4 sonographys. I did not get my periods in March in fact got in April 12 days delayed.On visiting the Dr he did sonography and told theres a swelling in my ovary (side effect of tamoxifen) and hence delayed periods.Now he has given me 21 tablets of DUOLUTON L to suppress that swelling in ovary.After this is done this month he has advised for artificial insemination next month. I'm tensed now.Is this Dr guiding me correctly. Your expert advice eagerly awaited.

Hello young lady
I see patients with infertility in my clinic and I will definitely help you as well
Your doctor has advised tamoxifen I would like to know if you are having PCOS (poly cystic ovary syndrome)
before going for artificial insemination I would advise you for complete check up and confirmation of cause for infertility and accordingly will address the issue

if you can upload me your ultrasound report and your husbands semen analysis report
ovulation can be induced even with PCOS with other good alternative of tamoxifen which can be assessed by serial ultrasound and hormonal studies

No I do not have PCOS or any other irregularity and my periods have also regular since teenage.My sonography report is normal.The Dr said while I'll b taking DUOLUTON L my husband's semen analysis and both of ours blood and urine tests will b done and next month we can try for artificial insemination. What other tests we need to do .
Was Tamoxifen not the right medicine for me??

i am glad to know that your ultrasound is normal and you are having regular periods

In my opinion tamoxifen is not recommended until the diagnosis for PCOS or low ovarian reserve confirms

I would advise you to get hormonal study and serial ultrasound for ovulation study.
You should wait for atleast 6 more months before going for artificial insemination.
I will also advise you to practice sex near ovulation which would be 14 days prior to next menses.

Yes after 5 days of tamoxifen Dr did sonography evry alternate day and told the day of ovulation and best day for conception.But even then i did not conceive.
Currently my worry is that the 21 tablets of DUOLUTON L are safe for me or not as iv read that these are contraceptive pills and cause hormonal imbalance?? Can i rely on the Dr for this medicine.

you should rely upon doctor you are getting right treatment
you should be worried but not too much
try to conceive naturally which is very much possible in your case
