Suggest Treatment For Discomfort In Chest After Smoking Gutka
I was eating Gutka (almost 6-7 packs/day) and was smoking (1 cigar/day) for almost 3 years. In the end of the 3rd year, I started feeling sharp and intense pain in the left side of my chest. The pain used to worsen if I inhale even little bit of cigarette smoke. Also, when I exhale completely, I could feel the painful area in my left chest.
So I decided to give up all bad habits. It has been 5 years now, since I completely stopped eating Gutka and smoking cigarette. Now, 80% of the pain has gone/vanished, but still some times I feel some discomfort in my left chest ; especially, when I exhale completely or when I workout in gym or do stretching exercises.
The pain eases with a popping sound in chest when I stretch.
Please can you suggest what I should do.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
I had gone through your query and I appreciate your concern
Looking at your description I would rule out following possibilities one by one
Chest or lung disease by an X ray chest in full inspiration .
Heart disease by an ECG and echocardiography or if need be TMT.
Gastric problem or hiatus hernia
Meanwhile I would advise you to follow these guidelines
1. You should take anti acidity medicines like pantoprazole or ranitidine group of drugs with antacids for a week to 10 days
2. You should avoid fatty fried spicy and junk food or carbonated drinks
3. Have lots of fresh fruits and steamed or raw vegetables
4. Deep breathing exercises
5. Relaxation exercises and meditation to allay anxiety and stress.
Hope this helps you
