Suggest Treatment For Dizziness After Starting Clonazepam For Depression

Detailed Answer:
Hello!
Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!
I carefully passed through your question and would explain that your symptoms could be related to clonazepam, but considering your age and the fact that you suffer from diabetes, it is important also excluding other possible causes:
- an inner ear disorder
- low brain perfusion
- cervicarthrosis (chronic degeneration of the cervical spine) or a wrong position during sleeping.
That is why, I would recommend going to the ER for a physical exam and some tests:
- fasting glucose
- a resting ECG
- a brain CT scan
- a cervical spine X ray study.
If these tests result normal and your troubles persist, I would recommend consulting with an ENT specialist for labyrinthine tests, in order to exclude an inner ear disorder.
I would also recommend performing a Doppler ultrasound of the neck arteries in order to study the blood flow in them and exclude possible narrowing.
Meanwhile, I would recommend avoiding physical activity, take an aspirin 80-100mg and take plenty of fluids.
Hope to have been helpful!
Kind regards,
Dr. Iliri
