Suggest Treatment For Drug Abuse And Aggressive Behavior

need some details.
Detailed Answer:
Hello Dear XXXXXXX
Welcome to HCM.
I have gone through your query about your son. I completely understand your concerns.
You feel that your son has some mental health issues.
It would be really helpful for me if you could give the details about your son's behavior:
1. Does he get aggressive without any reasons? Assaultive, abusive?
2. Has become suspicious for people around him?
3. Has racing thoughts, grandiose ideas?
4. His sleep, appetite and self care?
5. His mood, energy levels, interest?
6. Why is he homeless? Married? Kids?
7. Any sort of drug abuse?
8. How would you describe his personality since childhood? Since what age you feel that he has mental health issues?
9. Any other details which you would like to give?
10. Have you tried any medications for him?
Not being suicidal or homicidal does not rule out a mental illness. I think he would need a detailed psychiatric evaluation.
People with Mental illnesses are often ignored. You family members may not be accepting his problems, but support and care of people with mental illnesses are absolute necessity for their treatment.
I assure you to guide and help you in all possible ways here.
Hope to hear from you soon.
Regards.

1 - 8 is what I meant to say. I am afraid that he will go looking for the man that hurt him and took his things. I have 2 nephews with schyscophrenia, and I don't know what to do .
residential de-addiction treatment and rehabilitation.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for reverting back.
Family history of schizophrenia is a strong risk factor for development of the mental illness in other family members.
He has also been abusing drugs since childhood and has behavioral problems.
In my opinion, he needs residential de-addiction treatment and rehabilitation.
I would suggest you to consult an addiction medicine specialist. Medicinal (depending on drug of abuse abd its withdrawal symptoms)as well as psychological treatment must be instituted for him.
Persuade your son for the treatment.
Once he is detoxified of drugs, his behaviour should improve.
And at all times, your support is mandatory for his recovery.
Hope this helps.
I wish for speedy recovery of your son.
Thanks.
