Suggest Treatment For Dry Cough And Fever

Question: My wife, age 56, has a fever for 2 days now between 100.8 and 102.5.. dry cough, achy body, tired, and listless sleep. She is a nursing assistant in a Nursing home, does not smoke, takes no medication for any chronic or acute condition at this time. We have given her Nyquil and Tylenol but the fever and cough and achiness persists... What could it be besides a viral upper respiratory infection?

Detailed Answer:
Hello!I have been through your question.
Related your wife 's concern I think you shoudn' t worry because since that she has these symptoms for just 2 days this is just a viral situation(flu).
Furthermore I suggest to get some rest and to continue with these medications. But if this situation last more than 3-4 days she should meet a doctor to see for complications like pneumonia.
I hope my answer helps you.
I wish your wife a quick recovery.
Regards.
