Brief Answer:
Treatment with antibiotics likely to be needed.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone carefully through your query and understand your concerns. You could be having a bacterial infection of the chest. A raised CRP (C reactive protein) level indicates an infection or inflammation. I would need to ask you the total WBC count as well as the percentage of neutrophils. It will indicate whether treatment with antibiotics is needed. As such, serum ferritin is also an inflammatory marker.

I did not find any attachment. I would be glad if you upload the X Ray report as well as the blood count report.

Steam inhalation should provide relief. I would also insist taking some antiallergic like cetirizine once daily for the next few days.

Let me know if I could help further.

Regards

Brief Answer:
Thanks for noting the reports

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back. Sorry for the inadvertent delay. You can upload the reports using the facility at the upper right of this page. Alternatively you can email it to YYYY@YYYY with queryId 335110 mentioned in the subject.

The WBC count is fine and does not seem to indicate for treatment with antibiotics. In such a case the CRP and ferritin could be pointing to an inflammatory cause, the focus of which needs to be identified.
