Hello

Thanks for the query

The most common reason for dry cough is a viral upper respiratory infection which usually subsides on its own without any treatment in about 2 weeks. However dry cough can be caused by various other reasons as well. Please get back to me with the following

1. How long has it been since you have been suffering from dry cough
2. Do you have fever?
3. Are you on any medications?
4. Did you recently suffer from sore throat or running nose?
5. ANy recent history of travel?

Please get back to me, I am awaiting your reply

Hello

Thanks for the reply

I am sorry for the short delay in my reply, I was on call at my hospital

From the history you have given it looks like you are suffering from viral upper respiratory infection. If you do not have fever anymore then I would recommend you to stop Tussiva syrup and take 2 tsp of syrup linctus codeine morning and night to suppress the cough. I would also recommmend you to take Tab Levocetrizine 10mg twice daily for 3 days
I would like to add here that dry cough usually takes a lot of time to get better, sometimes it may take upto 3 weeks. However if you start getting sputum then I suggest you to get a chest x ray done to rule out pneumonia

I hope I was of help, I am once again sorry for the delay

Regards
