Suggest Treatment For Dry Eyes
Question: Dear Doctor,
I am a software engineer and need to work on laptop for more than 8 hours daily. I also need to show presentations from projector to my clients.
Due to lot of screen exposure, I experience watery eyes and sometimes the words on the screen appear blurred especially when I have less sleep.
I have done a detailed check up with a local Ophthalmologist and there is no specks or problem with vision.
Also, I take a break around every 2 hours and wash my eyes and face, but then again I need to go back and start working on the laptop. Going out in a break outside office is not possible for me.
Doctor, what more can you suggest for taking care of my eyes?
I have bought some ayurvedic cooling green pad to keep on eyes to cool them, but it's not very effective.
Also at my house, I watch TV not more than 1 hour daily from a sufficient distance around 8 feet.
What else can be done to avoid specs or such problem of eyes.

Brief Answer:
computer vision syndrome.

You are having computer vision syndrome. Main problem in your case is dry eye. During continuous computer use your blinking is decreased. This is why tear film does not spread. So may cause dry eye syndrome. So you can-take break after one hour and sit closing your eyes. Then roam inside your room. Go near a window ,look outside and blink for sometime. Secondly you can use a artificial tear drop and an anti glare specs. Your laptop must be having anti glare screen then these steps will give you relief.
