Suggest Treatment For Dry Scalp

Use different medication in initial phase
Detailed Answer:
Dear Madam,
Welcome to this site!
I am Dr V XXXXXXX a Sr Dermatologist.
I have noted your concerns and reviewed your past posts too.
I feel that since the problem is bothering you to a great extent, you might benefit by using Mometasone containing preparations in solution form for first few weeks followed by the use of Ketoconazole plus Zinc Pyrithione combinations.
Salicylic acid containing shampoos are very effective for removing scales and that step provides almost immediate relief from symptoms.
For control of itching one might consider using anti allergics as per one's suitability to a particular product.
These measures will help you a lot.

I wish I could describe my problem better I can shampoo one day and within the next two or three days my scalp is covered with- it seems like dandruff I scratch it and it comes up under my fingernails Not too many scabs now just a covering over the scalp and I might mention it is worse on the left side of head. Really bad in front of ears on both sides I do appreciate your help.
Frequency of shampoo use is adjustable

Hi
Welcome back.
You are correct that some people get the flakes accumulated too fast.
In the initial phase of treatment, this can be expected and alternate day shampooing might be necessary but as you recover, the need to use shampoo will lessen and you will be comfortable. For this reason, I suggested that you use a combination of Mometasone along with shampoo so that both can act by enhancing the effect of each other. The solution can also be applied to the front of ears.
Most of the medicines should be available without prescription but this depends upon prevalent rules in your region.
Best wishes.
