Suggest Treatment For Dull Pain In The Groin Area

default
Posted on Wed, 29 Jun 2016
Question: I have a constaint dull pain in my groin area on the right side. It gets worse when I strain to push out a XXXXXXX movement and or cough hard. It almost feels like something above the groin area is being pushed through a small opening into my sack. (What does a hernia feel like?)

Brief Answer:
might be inguinal hernia, need an examination to confirm

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome.
I have gone through your query.
I would like to know is there any swelling near inguinal region or is there any appearance of bulge near inguinal region when you strain or cough?

Based on the information provided by you it is more likely to be inguinal hernia. It is difficult to confirm without examination, so I would suggest you to see doctor, especially general surgeon if possible for examination.

Presently I would suggest you not to cough or strain, as it not only increases the pain but can also make your inguinal canal wider.

This provisional advice provided by me is based entirely on the input provided to me. I would suggest examination by the doctor.

I hope this suggestion might be of some help to you. Please let me know if you're having any further queries..

Take care.

I think you are correct after reading more about a Inguinal Hernia it seems to fit what i am feeling. I am scheduled for a colonoscopy one week from today. Would you suggest gettting this hernia fixed first or will it not make any difference which happens first?

inform the doctor before colonoscopy about your symptoms

I would suggest you to inform the doctor before colonoscopy about your problem. Let them examine you and them they will be in better position to decide on it.
