Suggest Treatment For Ear Infection And Bronchitis

Question: My 24 year old son went to a ready clinic this morning. He was diagnosed with an ear infection and bronchitis. He is running a fever of 103.3. Should I take him to the ER?
Brief Answer:
fever is part of inflammatory response, can take while to respond
Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic
This would not be necessary. Fever is expected with ear infection and bronchitis. It is part of the body's response to inflammation and infection.
The antibiotics would not start to kick in for 24 to 48 hours, he can potentially have a fever up to this time and slightly beyond. It would not be abnormal.
The fever can be treated with the advil mentioned along with paracetamol. Both can these can be given together to try and reduce the temperature. A shower or sponge bath with tepid water (not cold water or water that is too warm) for 5 to 10 mins can also be done to break the temperature
He may have chills and be tempted to bundle up but this would further increase his temperature. He needs to take the medication and do the tepid bath to help with temperature control
I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
