Greetings from Dr.Divakara.P
Thanks for posting your query.

Well I went through your reports. Due to your negligence your blood sugars has got out of control and has damaged your kidneys slightly.

Well with adequate control of sugars , there is a chance that the kidney damage could be reversed to some extent but not completely.

Things you need to do to save and maintain your kidney health :

1. Take your sugar medicines regularly and never skip them.
2. Follow good diabetic diet .
3. Daily aerobic exercise -- 15-30 minutes per day.
4. Avoid any medications that can damage kidneys: For example Pain killers. Never self-medicate for any purpose. Even when you consult a doctor insist on Kidney safe medications.

Go for regular check up with the doctor . I would recommend you to repeat FBS and PPBS after 4 weeks.

Also I would recommend FUNDUS EXAMINATION ( Eye check up ) yearly once.

Hope this information was useful to you.
Any clarifications feel free to ask .

Regards.

Thanks a lot Doctor. I used to visit Doctors regularly but too much antibiotic for cough and cold and pain killer prescribed by the Doctors during last few years must have damaged my kidney and other parts.
You said it can be reversed though no fully, what shall I do for it? At least to prevent any further damage?
My blood sugar level Fasting is 116 this morning and yesterday it was 121, should I continue with the medicine Amaryl 1?

Kindly advise me some more about the disease and its prevention.

Eat light lunch and dinner.
Increase the intake of vegetables in your diet.

Exercise also plays important role :

Do daily aerobic exercise like Brisk walking, Jogging, Running, Swimming for at least 20-30 minutes a day. Gradually increase your intensity of exercise.

Thanks Doctor. I am a regular morning walker, I used to walk for 45 - 60 minutes every day. Excepting this diabetic problem I have no other complications. I also used to go for eye check up at least once in every year. I shall now on be very particular about the sugar medicine. I have already prepared a diet chart by a dietician and try to follow it.

Is there any medication available for curing the disease? How can it be reversed? There must be some treatment available for it. Kindly educate me.
