
Suggest Treatment For Eczema Post Child Delivery

Question: wife has hypothyroidism after the second delivery in 2012.last year she developed a eczema like skin problem on her leg.it had a symmetric pattern on both legs.
treatment was done and it got cured.but the scar is left behind.we r planning to use mederma to get rid of the scar.request your expert opinion on removing the scar.pic attached

I have gone through your query and I have reviewed the Image.
This is post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation /PIH. PIH is a non-specific reaction to any inflammatory insult to skin and presents as dark patches.
I would suggest you to use a mid potent steroid e.g Mometasone furaote 0.1% cream, twice daily for 3-4 weeks. This would lighten it up gradually.
