Question: Hello Dr. Guni. As you might know I went through a lot with medical doctors. I still have pain with reversal of colostomy. I did not needed colostomy as the doctor made a drastic error during highly sedated colonoscopy. I went to pain doctor recently and he gave four Nerve blocking treatments and my blood sugar started going up from AIC 6 to 8. I still feel that the the steroids injected into my system might be the cause. Prior to the nerve blocking phenomena my BS used to be between 100 to 110. My diabetic is age related not through genes. My doctor wants me be on Insulin but I am against. I take 1500 mg of Metmorphin and 20 mg of Glyburide. What is your take doctor? Also after the first nerve blockage, I started developing rib cage pain and I get a feeling the long needle might have penetrated my rib cage. Give me your take Dr. Thanks.

Brief Answer:
Hello,

Detailed Answer:
Nice to hear from you again,
As far as i can understand your blood sugar persists still high, even after the interruption of the corticosteroids. The pain is another factor that may contribute in increasing the blood sugar.
Hba1c level of 8% is a bit high, before trying to give you some further information i would like to know the blood sugar results during the day ( fasting and after meals) and your actual die(how many calories do you take approximately during the day). Have you ever had episodes of low blood sugar while taking 20 mg of Glyburide?
It will be a pleasure to help you further after the above information.
Kind regards,
Dr.Mirjeta

Hello Dr. Guni. My BS level fasting number ranges from 159 to 169. After 2 to 3 hours it goes from 229 to 179. I am taking 20 mg Glyburide and 1500 mg of Metmorphin. I think it is a very high doze. I get Dizzy owing to my high BS. I feel that my BS should come back to normal in about a few weeks. What is your Take? Is high BS makes to Dizzy? What is your take on Ayurvedic medicines? Also I started going through accupuncture for my pain which my doctor ordered. I had one session. What is your take on Accupuncture? Appreciate your help. There is a Ayurvedic Product called MADHUNASHINI! AMAZING NAME. What is your opinion? Indians and chinese take Ayurvedic product with a result they have so much vitality and T level will be up! NO WONDER THE POPULATION OF EACH OF THE ABOVE TWO REACHED THE LEVEL OF 1.3 BILLION! Dr. Guni, I appreciate helping me as most of the doctors here are not research oriented and they go by books. They do not practice Medicine or Surgery like my late father.
Thanks. XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
I agree with the above mentioned therapy.

Detailed Answer:
Hello again,
Regarding to blood sugar levels i would suggest to talk to your treating physician about the possibility of adding Novonorm in therapy. It will help in reducing postprandial sugar levels.
You may use Madhunashini, it has resulted without side effects and may help in lowering the blood sugar.
Acupuncture and ayurvedic medicine are not contraindicated. I wouldn't recommend to rely only in them but adding them to your therapy, you complete the whole treatment; medical and spiritual.
Every kind of therapy that makes you feel better is well accepted.
Wish you good health!
Kind regards,
Dr. Mirjeta
