Brief Answer:
several possible causes

Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome.
It would be good if you could write exact finings but elevated liver enzymes can be sign of many liver disorders. Most common this is caused by excessive alcohol drinking and if this is rule dout then he should do certain tests to rule out viral hepatitis, autoimmune hepatitis or gallbladder stones. Also, some medications can cause it as well. He should do ultrasound or ct scan to verify possible liver cirrhosis or steatosis and then you can plan further treatment. Wish you good health. Regards
