Brief Answer:
PSA and uroflowmetry to be done

Detailed Answer:
Hi there,
Thanks for using HCM.

His prostate is mildly enlarged.
Enlarged prostate will affect urination. He may develop symptoms like dribbling, urgency , night time frequent urination and urinary infection.

To plan treatment, few more tests are to be done. This includes uroflowmetry and serum Prostate specific antigen (PSA) test.

So please get these two tests done before I can suggest the treatment.

Regards,
Dr.Barani

We will be doing the tests you have mentioned in the reply. But is there a treatment plan that does not involve surgery?

Brief Answer:
Medications

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
As I said earlier treatment has to be planned after the above mentioned tests.
For milder degree of prostate enlargement medications are enough ( Eg. Dutasteride, Alfuzosin, Silodosin etc..)
Medications will shrink the enlarged prostate.
But in severe cases surgery is the only option.

Regards,
Dr.Barani.
