Suggest Treatment For Enlarged Prostrate

Question: I sent a question on the 10/12/14 from which I received a satisfactory reply.I have since had urine analysis and blood tests and cultures. The tests showed no uti and the red blood cell count had dropped significantly and also that I have an enlarged prostrate. I am drinking 2 litres of water and tea per day and getting up twice during the night to go to the toilet and I still have burning when and after I urinatewhich is about every 3 hours. I do not have fever and chills which I thought was a reaction to the antibiotic cephalexin.Should I try taking cephalexin in smaller doses or do I need some medication for my enlarged prostrate
Brief Answer:
Drugs to reduce the growth of protrate are required.
Detailed Answer:
Hi Sir,
I understand your query and concern.
As per your clinical symptoms, you seem to have refractory urinary tract infection secondary to the enlarged prostrate.
It is advisable to stop cephalexin as the infection has not responded to it.
It is now high time that you control the growth of the prostrate with the help of antiandrogen agents like tamsulosin and dutasteride.
Please note these drugs have to be taken only under strict prescription of your doctor.
These drugs provide an excellent improvement of urinary flow rates resolving the symptoms without the need of further antibiotics.
Thank you.
