Suggest Treatment For Enterococcal Infection
Question: On 20th november i had given my urine for urine culture and doctor in singapore said i have got Enterococcus bacteria ans i was given nirofurantioin 100 mg.

I have already taken Nitrofurantoin 100 mg twice a day from 24th november onwards for 10 days but there has been no improvement. Do you think this bacteria wont die with this medicine. Burning sensation is on going. Do i need some other medicine to cure this and how long it will take? Gove me good solution please.

Thanks for the follow up question, I had gone through your reports and prescription very diligently and I really appreciate your concern
This bacteria is sensitive to nitrofurantoin and linezolid as per your culture and sensitivity report
If it didn't respond to nitrofurantoin than I would advise you to take linezolid after consulting your doctor.
I would also advise you to find out the underlying cause for this chronic urine infection which might be related to urogenital disorder like small stone or poor hygienic conditions
so get an ultrasound done and take plenty of fluids 3 to 5 liters a day
Maintain good hygiene, try to avoid sexual contact until you recover fully or use condom.

I will get my scan of kidney and urianary tract done. My recent urine culture does nit show any bacteria. So do i have stones thats why i have urge to urine and empty the bladder and buring sensarion. When i dont drink much water and urine is orange ans litre cloudy and there is a feeling like water rerention then burning is more pravalent. When i drink water for 3-4 days the symptoms disappear and comes back when i consume less water. Is it due to some kidney stones or disease. What can be the cause and how to deal with this? The doctors in singaproe have no idea and they seem very inexperienced so i have to reply on you to give me more professional approach.

There is some preseure in the abdomen and bladder area. Addition to that you should take urine alkalinising syrup like alkasol which will also help you in relieving burning sensation.
If it doesn't help much than only you need to go for ultrasound, for that you can go to any imaging center or consult your nearest doctor
