Suggest Treatment For Epididymal Cyst On Left Testicle
Question: sir, I have been diagnosed of having an epididymal cyst on the left testicle. It is there since about 11/12 years but I was neglecting it because it is painless but when I came to know about testicular cancer then I went to a local urologist in last September and he first said that it is a harmless cyst and later confirmed it by ultrasound. The report has been attached with this. Now I don't have any problem regarding it. But today I felt a mild pain in my left testicle which lasted for about 1/2 minute and disappeared automatically. After some time it again repeated and disappeared automatically. I faced this about 3 times today. I masturbated 2/3 times yesterday. Is the pain have any relation with my masturbation ??? Sir the pain is not so severe and it would have been ignored. But I am worried whether it is the symptom of any serious life threatening condition like cancer ??? Or it is a normal thing which can be ignored ??? Please help me.

Hi. What you have described is not an unusual situation. Epididymal cysts are very common and as you have noted they are not likely to cause symptoms even if they have acquired a large size. The pain that you have described might not have anything to do with the cysts. I suggest you hold masturbayion for a few days and take a mild analgesic and anti-inflammatory drugs and see if you are more comfortable. If you have fever or any urinary symptoms such as burning urination, you should get a urine analysis and culture and start appropriate antibiotics like ciprofloxacin. As of now the chances of cancer are very remote. I am sure you will be better in a few days. You are welcome to lete know your progress.

thank U sir. Sir I have forgotten to say that I felt a burning sensation during urination just after masturbation (I don't remember whether it was yesterday or the day before yesterday). But the burning sensation is not felt now(It was felt only once during yesterday or day before yesterday and it is not felt regularly). Sir is it any serious condition like cancer ??? Is it related to today's pain in testis ??? Can it cause cancer if it left untreated ???

As I mentioned earlier this is almost certainly not a cancer and therefore I suggest you stop worrying about it and losing sleep. You can get a repeat ultrasound scan of scrotim as it should be easily available and not too expensive unlike expensive investigations like MRI. This will put your fears at rest. You should get a urine infection ruled out as most infections of epididymis originate from the urinary tract. If there is burning sensation in your urinary passage you can try alkalinization with something like citra-alka which should not harm you. Take plenty of oral fluids. Also wear a scrotal support to reduce any mild discomfort.

sir, from that day I took Azithromycin 500(Antibiotics). I didn't faced that pain since that day. But I am sorry to say that today I masturbated again but still I don't have any problem or pain in testicle. My question is will today's masturbation cause any serious problem(like cancer or any other problem) for me ??? And another question is- I have taken 2 tablets of Azithromycin 500(Antibiotics). I will take one more on today. Should I stop it after today ??? What should be it's dose ???

You can finish off your course of azithromycon. 500mg today should be adequate. You can follow with a low dose of an antibiotic. I personally prefer Tab.Levofloxacin 250mg once daily at bedtime for at least 4 weeks. This should take care of most of your discomfort. Also please wear a scrotal support.
