anti epileptics and pregnancy
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
If you have got pregnant and you have confirmed it ,also you have been on seizure medications since long, then only condition where your insurance shall cover miscarriage or abortion ( planned) if there is a congenital anomaly in the child. this can occur is you have been on sodium valproate, carbamazepine, lamotrigninfe etc which are known to cause congenital foetal defects, then once the defect has been confirmed by ultrasound , then those are ground enough for termination , else any unplanned pregnancy and termination shall not be covered by your insurance.
You may first discuss if the anti epileptics that you are having are safe in pregnancy or not with your neurophysician. I am sure he would have advised you to use contraception if these drugs were teratogenic.
