Question: I'M 68 yrs old and over the last few yrs. Ihave found it difficult to get and maintain an erect penis . When my penis is flaccid, it feels like soft spongy type cartilage. I feel as though there's some kind of blockage preventing the full blood flow from making the penis hard ; when it is relatively hard, it is not fully elastic; it is a bit shortened as it is being prevented from stretching to maximum length. To be honest this started 5 yrs ago .

Brief Answer:
lisnopril can rarely cause erectile dysfuction (<1% patients)

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

Flaccid penis feels spongy, that is normal.

erection includes accumulation of blood to make the penis hard. If there is inadequate blood flow due to any reason--

Diabetes Mellitus - causes vascular disease and decrease nervous system function.

Blood pressure medicines

High blood pressure itself

Psychological process- by far the most common cause. if you are not relaxed and very tense it can lead to impotence or only partial erection.

Low gonadal hormones with age can also contribute.

If you feel that the problem started after using lisnopril it may be worthwhile trying to change the medication under guidance of your doctor.

if you do not have any significant heart disease you can use tidalafil tablets under guidance of your doctor.

also try to be calm have adequate sleep these steps also help in performance.

best wishes
