Suggest Treatment For Erection Problems In An Elderly Person
Question: Do any of these "Better Sex" products offered in so many advertisements I receive in the mail actually work?
I am 84 years old and haven't had an erection since my Heart Artery Bypass Surgery 12 years ago.
Is there any prescription or over-the-counter product which will really restore my "sex life"?
Thanks
Where can I find information on stem cell uses and results?
Do any of the brain/mind improving products actually help an 84 year old brain?
I tried the TV advertised Prevagen (sp) and it did nothing for me.

Hello!
Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!
Regarding your concern, I would explain that there is no clinical evidence based data to support the efficacy of these products.
So, I would not recommend trying them, because their effects are not so glorious as shown in their publicity.
The only proven medication for erection disorders are Viagra, Cialis and other drugs of this pharmacological class.
There is no contraindications to these drugs in your situation. You should only not use nitroglycerin or nitrates concomitantly with these drugs.
Hope you will find this answer helpful!
Kind regards,
Dr. Iliri

I tried Viagra and Cialis several years ago they both had "scary" side effects to me: my vision had yellow streaks and I did not like the feeling of my heart when using either of these.
Thank you for your answer this is basically what my doctor tells me.
What about Testosterones replenishing products or theraphy?
My doctor does not recommend these for me.

Hello again!
Thank you for the additional information.
As you do not tolerate these drugs, Testosterone therapy and supplements could be another treatment option for your erection problems.
I agree with your doctor on the fact that it can increase your cardio-vascular risk.
But, the main action of Testosterone is increasing red blood cells and platelet count. So, you can follow up with a close monitoring of your blood cell count.
Besides, you should know that their effects are are not so obvious like Viagra or Cialis.

Wishing good health,
