Regarding management of erosive pustular dermatosis
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking. I am Dr. Kakkar(Dermatologist). I have noted your concern.
Erosive pustular dermatosis affects the chronically sun-damaged skin, commonly of the scalp.
It starts as pustules and later progresses to lakes of pus and crusting overlying eroded patches/ plaques.
Apart from Potassium permanganate soaks to loosen crusts, specific treatment with topical superpotent steroids like Clobetasol propionate 0.05% or Halobetasol propionate 0.05% offers considerable relief in erosive pustular dermatosis. Intermittent treatment with topi al steroids may be required to sustain improvement.
Alternative treatment options include tacrolimus ointment, calcipotriol/ calcipotriene ointment etc especially if the condition relapses as soon as potent steroids are withdrawn.
These are prescription medications and I suggest that you discuss with your dermatologist for the needful.
Sun protection is advisable and it helps prevent flares/ progression of erosive pustular dermatosis.

Regarding treatment of erosive pustular dermatosis
Detailed Answer:
hi.
Ultra potent topical steroids are of benefit and help keep the condition under remission. Use twice daily for 4-6 weeks and once the condition is in remission you may use the steroid cream intermittently for any flares.
Continue with sun protection all the time.
