Question: I have diagnosed with extreme vitamin d deficiency over a year ago but did not take the Vitamin D supplements provided by Dr. FOr the last 2-3 months I have experienced increasing telogen shedding. Assuming this is the cause is there any hope it his reversable and what would the treatment be

Vitamin D deficiency causes hair loss.Yes, retoration of Vitamin D checks hair loss and stimulates hair growth.

I were to suggest-
10-15 minutes of sun exposure in the morning daily.
Supplementation of Vitamin D fortified foods , plant foods and other supplements.
Cholecalciferol 60,000 IU (1g XXXXXXX every Sunday) for 8 weeks.This is available over the counter and has to be mixed in 100ml of milk and can be consumed.

Hope these few recommendation prevents further hair loss replenishing Vitamin D stores.Get well soon.
