Suggest Treatment For Facial Acne And Hair Fall

Question: 22 yr old female with onset facial acne, excessive boils on back and groin area no female hormone level and 5x male hormone level and hair falling out leaving large bald spots. This onset began approximately 6 months ago with no change in environment or normal living pattern.

Hi,

Welcome to HCM..

Your complaints are..1)acne on face
2)boil like lesions on back and groin
3)hair fall leading to XXXXXXX pacthes

All this started 6 months back. You had abortion in 2013. You gave this much history..but i would like to have answers of few questions.

1) did you have acne in past..tenage period.
2) on back, are the lesion acne like or impetigenous?
3)do you have itching or pain in lesions of face , back and groin?
4)do you take any medine at present?
5)did you take any medicine or pills in past?
6)describe the lesions of face,back and groin.
7)about hairs..is there diffuse hair loss or bald patches?
8)do you have dandruff? Itching on scalp?
9) history of any disease like DM,Thyroid dysfunction or any other disease.

Please give me answers of above queries.
And please post the photos of lesions of face, back and groin. And also post the photos of bald patches.

Then, I might be helpful in better ways.

1. Yes minor acne as a teenager no boils or leisions
3. Very painful and some itching
4. No medication
5. Birth Control 4 years ago
6. Face is acne breakout no boils or leisions
Back and groin have boils with extreme pain-large puss filled
7. Bald spots where hair fell out
8. No dandruff or itchy scalp
9. No history of any diseases only 2013 miscarriage not an abortion
Also weight gain of 30 pounds in 6 mos and due to what is going on depression.
This is my granddaughter and they are stationed in Japan and the military doctors can't find an answer for her. I will try to get photos to send but we are very concerned for her as her symptoms are getting worse. Thyroid test show overactive but MD not concerned also that is when the hormone levels were seen to be extremely off balance. What would cause this? She doesn't think this is a normal acne breakout. This is progressing and we need to find something to reverse this or at least stop the progression. Thank you

Hi,

Welcome back..

1) acne vulgaris on face is a common acne occuring at this age. Your grand daughter should follow treatment as below..

--- Tab Azithromycine 500 one in morning three days a week for few months or till good result.

--- Apply clindamycine gel on lesions of face daily at night.

---Cleansing the face with antiseptic face wash like acmed face wash thrice a day.

---To avoid oily food,ghee,milk cream..etc

2) impetigo on back and groin. They are skin infections caused by bacteria like staphylococci.. May be cured by treatment as below..

---Tab cefixime 200 mg twice a day for tone to two weeks.

---Tab nimesulide 200 mg daily till the lesions of back and groin subside.

---To apply antibiotic cream like sisomycine or gentamycine cream.

---To take bath with dettol containing water daily.

---To improve the immunity by immynoboosters, exercise and meditation.

3) alopecia or tellogen effluvium..hair loss

---Tab biotin 10 mg daily for few months or till good result.

---Iron,zinc,folic acid and calcium tablets.

---You consult endocrinologist for thyroid dysfunction.

---Apply mild steroid lotion on the scalp daily at night.

---Almond hair oil to improve texture of hairs.

---Herbal shampoo to cleanse the scalp.

---Depression may promot hair fall. Consult psychiatrist to have normality.

All above three problems may be improved after long term treatment suggested above. However, you may consult nearby dermatologist.

Thank you ,what about the hormone levels? Why would they change so much and is it possible that some of the other problems are due to this?
