Question: Hi. Twice I went to ED twice in last 6 weeks with chest pain bought on by running (I do cross country training of 10k every day). Pain with exercise almost every day. Settles with rest. Bloods and troponin all normal. Stress test normal. Dr said perhaps angina. Family history of heart disease - heart attack in father in mid 50s. I am 46 year old female with high cholesterol (7.8). Only medication I take is sertraline for depression. CT coronary angio performed. Results - coronary calcium score 6, no evidence of obstructive coronary artery disease but short segment (5mm) mixed plaque in proximal LAD with mild (<30%) luminal narrowing. Can't see Dr for another 5 days as no appointment. Could it be angina or is the pain I experience not related to these results?

Brief Answer:
Angina is not likely

Detailed Answer:
Dear Mrs,

Your comolaints most probably are not related to cardiac problems, as you have good CT angiography results. 30% narrowing usually don't cause angina. You should for other reasons, such as spine or muscle problems.
The only advice I would give you is to control your cholesterol levels, as it is possible you have familial dyslipidemia.

Hope I could help you

Wishing you good health

I also have a compressed nerves in C5/C6/C7 from workplace accident 2 years ago. Symptoms come and go re: tingling in arm and pain. Could this be affecting me with the running and causing referred pain?
Thank you.
