Posted on Tue, 13 Dec 2016
Question: I have to have a root canal Monday. I have been on penicillin since the 17th, every 6 hours. I am experiencing light head, fatigue, and for the first time today, i had blood in my stool (once today). Sunday my BP was 87/54, puylse 117. Monday it was 117/68, pulse 124. Today BP ia 107/74, pulse 98. I also take flexeril, losartin and pravastatin. Could these problems be a side effect of one of these meds.

Brief Answer:
Are you drinking enough?

Detailed Answer:
HI,

Your pulse and blood pressure alongside the symptoms of dizziness and fatigue are typical of low blood pressure caused by dehydration. I will suggest that you drink enough water, at least 2liters a day and let's see whether these symptoms repeat themselves. How is the nature of your stool? Hard stools can always cause blood in stools from abrasions and are often associated with poor fluids intake.

Let me know how this unfolds as you increase your fluid intake. Please, kindly update in at most 48hours.
