Question: My husband is 59 years old, and was diagnosed with fatty liver 2 years ago from an ultrasound. Lately, he has been suffering from swelling and terrible pain under his right armpit including his kidneys area. He wants to lose weight (267 lbs, 5'11), but finds it painful to use the treadmill because of constant pain in his feet,calves and legs. The only medication he takes is for high blood pressure. Would liposuction help his fatty liver ? Thank you, XXXXXXX

Fatty liver is not simply fat in the liver. This condition causes fatty deposits inside the liver which can replace the healthy liver. Body fat does not affect fatty liver. Its what he its, causes it. In simple words fat from the blood stream is filtrated by the liver.
So liposuction wont help with the fatty liver. Diet can do that.

If its about armpit swelling, he should have soft tissues ultrasound of this area. Armpit is where lymph nodes are located. Any swelling in this area can be due to enlarged lymph nodes.

For leg pain he should try Magnesium and Potassium supplementation.
