Brief Answer:
Fatty liver is not a disease but more of an indicator .

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for writing to HealthCareMagic, I am Dr Muhammd Ahmad, I have closely read your question and I understand your concerns, I will hereby guide you regarding your health related problem.

This is a very common finding for your age, fatty liver is there in more than almost 50% of population this does not show any disease but it does tell about life style of the person, people who usually have this are over wieght , consume alcohol or have sedentary life styles , some one having nothing among these can Have fatty liver too.

Fatty liver is not a disease but it's indication that you can check for causes of fatty liver and if something dangerous is there you can manage it. Like if you have fatty liver you should get more physically active, lose weight if you are over weight, and avoid alcohol and sugar.

It also says that there is another possibility of liver parenchymal disease, this is usually rare if you do not have any symptoms or deranged labs related to liver. But if you have some abnormalities shown in blood works or have jaundice or active liver disease going on , then echogenicity in the liver is not a good news.

Conclusion: Echogenicity in liver is a normal finding if you do not have a known liver disorders, you are symptom free and your blood works are normal then there is nothing to worry just avoid fatty food, reduce some weight, get physically active and avoid alcohol that's all you need.

I hope this answered your question, if you have more feel free to ask, otherwise close the discussion and rate it.

Regards.
