Suggest Treatment For Feeling Of Water Inside The Ears

default
Posted on Tue, 18 Aug 2015
Question: My ears (sometimes) sound like there is water in them and it is REALLY hard to get the sound to stop. the most effective treatment is an over the counter wax remover. You put a few drops in your ear, let it sit for 2 minutes or so, then Q tip it out. This provides TEMPORARY relief. What cause this, and how do I get rid of it?

Brief Answer:
Wax remover should not be used empirically

Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome

I appreciate your concern

Even with a feeling of water inside ears , I would advise against using the wax remover as it can complicate the situation if an infection or a small perforation is already present, both of which are possible causes. It would be ideal to keep the ear dry and consult an ENT specialist to examine the ear. If there is associated ringing ,DNS i.e deviated nasal septum should be looked for and confirmed on PNS x ray. If evidence of infection is found then antibiotics and decongestants can be advised accordingly.

Wishing you best of health

Thanks
