Doc said if fever doesn't reduce evern after 3 days only then will go for dengue or chikun guniya tests.. my fever came down in 48 hrs.. but did have body pain which gradually reduced... But now i feel i am still having joints pain.. and when i try to move myslef from a posture after a while i feel the joints very rigid... Can you please suggest wat tests would be required to take for dengue or chikun guniya presence... and also i want to get my thyroid levels tested since i am gaining weight though i am on proper diet.. please suggest wat tests should i take for those as well..

Brief Answer:
All necessary details provided regarding the query in depth .

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear

Warm welcome to Healthcaremagic.com
I have evaluated your query thoroughly .

* There are various reasons for this type of condition .

* Primary work up should be with baseline complete blood counts , serum widal
test , creatinine , fasting blood sugar level evaluation .

* Then comes topic of your query for particular ailments :

1. For Dengue fever

* NS 1 antigen - acute phase infection
- positive within 1-2 days of infection , positive upto
9 days of onset of symptoms .
So not of much value in your case ( as it is 3 months ) .
* Antibody detection ( IgG , IgM test )
- IgG +ve , IgM -ve or low = past infection .
- IgG +ve , IgM +ve = infection within recent weeks .

2. For Chikun guniya
PCR assay - evaluating serum or plasma for virus specific IgM antibodies
- +ve after end of 1 st week of infection .

3. For Thyroid
Serum TSH , free T3 , T4 levels are mandatory .

Hope this will help you for sure .
Welcome for any further guidance .

Regards .
