Suggest Treatment For Fever, Body Aches And Uneasiness In Stomach
Question: Hi,
I have recently had spots appear first on my face and then on my hands and arms one day later. The spots are on both sides of my face and on both hands and arms, but not in a symmetrical pattern. I have attached pictures of my face and arms.
I am not sure if this is related, but a few days ago I came down with a flu-like illness with mild fever, body ache, and uneasy stomach. Most of the symptoms from the flu have resolved now except for some queasiness in my stomach after I eat.
I am a 32 year old female with no prior history of illness or hospitalization.
Please let me know if you need any further details or if i need to address this question to another specialty.
Thanks in advance.

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us
I am Dr.kakkar(dermatologist). I have gone through your query and i have reviewed these images.
Are the spots itchy?
This could be a light induced eruption since the lesions are all distributed on sun exposed skin
Regards

Hi Dr. Kakkar,
Thanks for your quick response. The spots are not itchy. They have all developed over the course of 2 days and immediately after the illness - is that related?
Also, what can i do about this?
Thank you .

Brief Answer:
Viral exanthema or a drug eruption is a possibility
Detailed Answer:
Hi. Thank you
If its immediately after or during the illness it could very well be a viral exanthem and related to the same episode of flu Or probably a drug induced eruption (in case you took some medication for flu)
I suggest you to take a tablet of loratdine 10 mg once daily. Topically you may use a calamine lotion, twice or thrice daily.
This rash should subside on this symptomatic treatment
