Suggest Treatment For Fever In A 2 Year Old Child

Question: My son XXXX started getting fever from today evening. Around 10:30pm he had 101 temperature and I have him Paracetamol Pediatric Oral suspension (Dolo-250) 3ml. After an hour his temperature became 102.2. So, around 11:50pm I gave him Mefenamic Acid Suspension (Meftal-P) 3ml. Now his template is in control and he is sleeping well. Kindly advice the dosage I need to continue and is it necessary to visit a doctor for the current situation. He is not showing any restlessness and he is not cranky .
Also, what are the key things to observe when a kid of 2 years is having fever and when should I visit a doctor. And what are the basic medications i need to give and under what circumstances?

Brief Answer:
Letargy is the sign to look out for
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on Health Care Magic.
The dose of paracetamol is 15 mg/kg/dose to be given at minimum interval of 3-4 hrs. It is basic fever medicine. Mefenamic acid is more effective and should be given at 5 mg/kg/dose (syrup 50 mg/5ml) to be given at minimum interval of 6-8 hrs independent of dose of paracetamol. Alongside tepid sponging may be given.
Lethargy and fever lasting for a week or more calls for urgent medical attention. Wheezing or any other symptoms that you cannot manage on your own calls for your doctor's visit.
