Welcome to Healthcare-Magic
Greetings of the day

Dear Mr XXXXXXX ,

Majority of Fever in children are due to non specific viral infection and do decrease in severity in 48 to 72 hours. Fever is not a disease but symptom of underlying disease. Infection being the commonest cause.
I would like to have additional information about other associated symptoms to know the cause of Fever
1. Respiratory symptoms: Does the child have cough, running nose , wheezing
2. Any rash over the body?
3. Excessive crying while passing urine, is the urine quantity adequate?
4. Gastrointestinal symptoms: Is there vomiting, loose motion or pain in abdomen?

I would suggest you the following in the meantime
1. Continue antibiotic as advised
2. Continue Meftal P suspension 3 to 4 times a day .
3. Sponging of body: 15 to 20 minutes after giving Meftal P suspension wipe the whole body with tap water at room temperature. This will help in bringing down temperature
4. Ensure adequate hydration: During fever there is excess loss of water. If there is any dehydration, it causes aggravates the fever. Fluids in the form of either plain water, juice or soup should be given liberally to the child
5. Maintain nutrition: Keep feeding the child every 2 to 3 hours with whatever the child demands.
I hope the child is not refusing feeds.

Do get back to me anytime for any further assistance.
Do not worry he will get well soon.

Take care
