Posted on Thu, 10 Nov 2016
Question: I have been running a fever only at night (after 8 PM) up to 101.5 since Sunday night. I have muscle pain in the upper shoulders, lower back, and the top of head is sore to touch. Also experiencing a tenderness on the sides of my tongue, and my stomach is a little uncomfortable. I do receive some comfort with a warm herbal pillow on my head or shoulders. During the day no fever, and only a little muscle discomfort. Thoughts on what this is and is it contagious. I don't want to stay home from work, if it isn't contagious. thanks

Brief Answer:
Its Viral Prodrome symptoms

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to Healthcare-Magic
Greetings of the day

Dear Ms

Going by description of your symptoms it appears to be viral prodromal symptoms . In the absence of significant respiratory symptoms like cough / running nose , its unlikely to be contagious.

As in any viral illness, taking adequate bed rest helps in fast resolution of symptoms. I would suggest you to take adequate bed rest , oral antipyretic/analgesics and plenty of oral fluids.

Do get back to me if you need any further assistance, will be glad to assist you

Thank you for the reply. So does this also mean that I will have a viral infection appear in a few days that will start all over? Or can I get better and never have a virus? Thanks for the info
